Suzanne Alberts, Artist

Sue is returning to the bazaar for a second year. She has spent her life raising her family, pursuing her career in nursing, and dabbling in artistic interests.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1986, Sue honed her artistic talents, using watercolors to replace physical activities.

She painted while her husband Phil walked; they were "alone together" in the scenic byways of Oregon.

Never one to give up, Sue says, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." One door closed and she made sure she opened another door.

Quite a few of our artists come to us from the medical community. That could be because my sister, Billi, and my original co-host, Carol, have been relentless in pursuing their friends to be vendors, or it could be that art is a great release for stressful jobs. Either way, I'm impressed.
