This Year's Ad Poster

Well, I promised to show you this year's poster commissioned from Bree Lichnovsky, our vendor from Ilwaco, WA, right on the coast.

The longer I look at the painting, the more detail I see. I love the coastal theme. Her artwork is delightfully whimsical with the imps and a unique font that Bree designed. You will be seeing posters and postcards along the coast in shops, restaurants and hotels.

We are once again giving all our profits to the Clatsop County Women's Resource Center (now called The Harbor to include all the men, women and children they help.)

We're just steps from the beach, so combine a walk on the beach with a visit to our bazaar. Just remember to bring your wallet. Send an e-mail to fernaldlk@gmail.com for more information.

Val and Sue Munoz, Glass Artists

Sue and Val Munoz, from Long Beach, WA, are returning to the bazaar for the fourth year.  We are always excited to see what they are working on now.

Val is the expert at making wonderful trays out of recycled bottles.  He painstakingly removes the labels, collapses the bottles in a kiln, then ver-r-y carefully adheres the labels right back where they were.  The process is quite amazing!

These trays make the perfect gift for someone with a particular favorite beverage.

Sue is the expert at creating beautiful glassware like this plate.

Most recently they are making lamps, hanging and standing, in a variety of gorgeous colors

These creations fly out the door, so claim yours early so as not to miss out!

Zimbabwe Artists Project (ZAP)

We at Seaview Manor Bazaar are honored to support Zimbabwe Artists Project (ZAP), a non-profit organization that works with women (and a few men) from rural Weya in Eastern Zimbabwe, to create beautiful art reminiscent of their lives...

and life in Zimbabwe.

ZAP partners with Weya artists to strengthen self-sufficiency, build cultural understanding and create educational opportunities. They do this by purchasing art directly from Weya artists, then reselling the art in the United States in art exhibits, art sales like Seaview Manor, and online on their website. Sales help provide food, clothing, school fees, medicines, transport, seeds, fertilizer and much more.

In addition to selling artwork, ZAP provides healthcare assistance for all of the artists, as well as school fees for children in the Weya area who have been orphaned.

Products include board paintings, embroideries, fabric paintings, appliques, calendars and greeting cards. For those collectors who wish to display meaningful art, you can't find a more beautiful addition to your home!

For more information go to zimbabweartistsproject.org.

Hayley Espelund, Potter

This will be Hayley's fifth year with the Seaview Manor Bazaar, and we love having her with us! With all her interests in surfing, running, biking, Jiu Jitsu and just about anything else outdoors, it's a wonder she has time to make pottery, but make it she does.

I love the depth of color she uses.

About 6 years ago I had set out to find "beachy" ornaments to hang on our beach house tree and couldn't find anything I liked.  But I didn't know Hayley yet!  Now I have exactly what I was looking for.

Those of us who work the bazaar shop off and on the entire weekend and have quite a pile by the time the bazaar is over. Then we have to pay up! (But I do love these mugs.)

Hayley has an Etsy site and does commissioned work also, so check her out, or buy her items at the bazaar and support The Harbor (formerly called the Clatsop County Women's Resource Center.)

Denise White, Frame Artist

Denise White has been a faithful vendor since the beginning, 2007. She has been an oncology nurse in Portland for 34 years, so how she finds time to pursue her interest in crafts is beyond me.  But she says crafting and gardening are what keep her sane!

Although she has provided a variety of fine crafts for the bazaar, she has most recently settled into making her very popular frames.

The frames are embellished with shells, glass, vintage  buttons, freshwater pearls and rhinestones.

What a perfect accompaniment for that treasured beach photo - an unforgettable gift or personal remembrance. Denise will have many frames to choose from at the Seaview Manor Bazaar held in Seaside, OR, October 24 and 25, 2014, 10 AM - 4 PM.
