Jean Furchner, Seamstress

You would think that at 82 years old, Jean would be slowing down, but that isn't the case. She still volunteers at the Cannon Beach library several times a week; she still volunteers at the Auxiliary of the Cannon Beach American Legion; she still sews up a storm. The Auxiliary hosts a large craft fair/bake sale, which Jean manages, in Cannon Beach the last weekend of July every year.

Jean does beautiful table runners, some of them reversible. Sometimes they reverse from Thanksgiving to Christmas themes, sometimes just different patterns for the same holiday or color schemes like the ones below.

Jean also does placemats in gorgeous fabrics. They can be used to set off your dinnerware...

or as just the right welcome for coffee with friends...

or to brighten mealtime for the child in your life.

Jean does the placemats in sets of 4, 6, or 8. She has been part of our bazaar for 8 of the 9 years and I always look forward to seeing what new fabrics she has for us.
