Dave Bartholet, Wildlife Artist

Dave is selective about how far he can stretch his time, limiting himself to 30 shows a year across the country. He resides in Seaside, Oregon, where he and his wife Penny operate the Gilbert District Gallery on Broadway.

His loose style of watercolors has proven to be very popular, and he has more than 400 of his original paintings available in limited edition prints. Over 100,000 homes have his work on display.

Dave has illustrated many magazine and book covers and was commissioned by the National Wildlife Refuge to commemorate its 100-years, a 30 x 50 foot effort.

Clash of the Titans

He often says he paints, not because he can, but because he must.

Dave believes he was born to paint and credits God with his natural ability.

We are lucky, indeed, that Dave has consented to share some of his pieces with our bazaar at Seaview Manor.

Leanne Fernald, Confectioner and Seamstress

I try to add something to the bazaar also. I make almond toffee, which is packaged in 1 pound or 1/2 pound quantities. I have sold out every year. I think it's the samples that people fall in love with.

I do some sewing too. Several years ago I decided to use recycled denim to make skirts for little girls.

When I tired of that, I had lots of left over denim, so branched out to make hats, which make great chemo hats, but my granddaughter loved them too. The hats are reversible, with one side being denim.

I made some HUGE beach bags with lots of pockets, inside and outside, and nice long straps to make them comfortable to carry.

I made some pillows.

I even made some bibs, but don't have photos of those. You can contact me at fernaldlk@gmail.com if you want something, but I would really love to see you at our

Diana Tu, Traveler

Once in a while we just can't resist sharing what our friends find in their travels.

Diana often returns to her homeland of Viet Nam where she was a teacher for 15 years. While there, she finds beautiful scarves and is willing to share them with you.

Diana has worked hard in her nail salons to provide the means for her 3 children to attend college and become successful in their United States home.

Come see what she has for you at our

Hayley Espelund, Potter

Hayley is an avid surfer, spending much of her time in the Pacific Ocean or the surrounding shoreline and forests, pursuing multiple outdoor sports. When she's not out in nature, she's in her pole barn working on her pottery. Each unique piece is hand-built and hand-finished.

I use this large bowl for pasta for a group, but it would make a great salad bowl, too.

Hayley works with individuals to develop back splashes, tile inlays, custom mosaics, and functional serving pieces, so you can also custom order what you have in mind.

Below is how she lays out a large wall mosaic. You can see that it not only takes artistic talent, but attention to detail and a great deal of patience.

We are so glad Hayley was captivated by clay while still in middle school and continues experimenting and learning! She has been so faithful in supporting the
Bazaar at Seaview Manor, working it into her very busy schedule.

Becky Mizell, Polymer Clay Artist

Becky is constantly developing new designs with polymer clay. She has done journal covers and wall art. Her unique buttons are sold nationally from her Etsy site.

When you have put hours into knitting a special sweater, what can be more perfect than adding just the right buttons to set it off? Becky has lots of designs to choose from.

She also does amazing jewelry...

barrettes...

and elegant pill boxes, card holders, and scissors holders.

Becky has always been so supportive of our bazaar at
Seaview Manor, returning year after year. I have a number of her pieces in my jewelry box.

Paulina Winkler, Knitter

Paulina is no ordinary knitter! She has been knitting since she was a little girl in the Czech Republic. Her beautiful knitted items were displayed and sold in boutiques there. She is now so excited about joining our
Bazaar at Seaview Manor.

Isn't this the most darling sweater and matching scarf for a baby girl?

And I can just see a little girl wearing this beautiful sweater with a pair of leggings.

It seems that boys are so often left out of the fashion world, but Paulina certainly hasn't forgotten them.

But many of her creations can be used for girls or boys.

Paulina also knits pillow coverings. I'll bet you've never even thought of that! But look how beautiful it is. She will have lots to choose from, so have a list ready when you come through the door.

Paulina is the mother of 3 and grandmother of 4 1/2, though she seems much too young to be a grandmother. No wonder she is constantly knitting these little garments.

Jean Furchner, Seamstress

You would think that at 82 years old, Jean would be slowing down, but that isn't the case. She still volunteers at the Cannon Beach library several times a week; she still volunteers at the Auxiliary of the Cannon Beach American Legion; she still sews up a storm. The Auxiliary hosts a large craft fair/bake sale, which Jean manages, in Cannon Beach the last weekend of July every year.

Jean does beautiful table runners, some of them reversible. Sometimes they reverse from Thanksgiving to Christmas themes, sometimes just different patterns for the same holiday or color schemes like the ones below.

Jean also does placemats in gorgeous fabrics. They can be used to set off your dinnerware...

or as just the right welcome for coffee with friends...

or to brighten mealtime for the child in your life.

Jean does the placemats in sets of 4, 6, or 8. She has been part of our bazaar for 8 of the 9 years and I always look forward to seeing what new fabrics she has for us.

Vicki Sullivan, Ceramic and Porcelain Artist

Vicki has always been an artist, focusing on clay as her medium in college. While in California she developed very successful businesses - Earthy Endeavors Inc. and Clearly Creative Inc., then produced her unique beads and three-dimensional decor for nation-wide companies.

Since moving to the Pacific Northwest Vicki spends her time designing and producing one-of-a-kind slab built pottery. She limits her sales to local galleries and shows, although you may find her work in a museum somewhere. We feel very lucky to have this nationally recognized artist in our bazaar.

Michael Sullivan, Porcelain Artist

Michael is an award-winning artist and has taken China painting to a whole new level!

He has been painting porcelain since 1984 and is involved in many professional art organizations, sometimes as a guest artist, sometimes as an instructor, sometimes as a juror, often as an officer, and always as a visionary.

Michael sees each porcelain piece he selects as a
three-dimensional canvas.

What wonderful gifts these will make!
A bit of beauty always makes me feel good.

Jobina Lacock, Seamstress

Jobina and her daughter Donna have created Deep Forest Workshop as a mother/daughter project. Donna designs the purses and selects the gorgeous batiks they use in their creations.

Jobina does all the impeccable sewing.

They also make aprons and knitted scarves.

Each piece they create is unique and one-of-a-kind. Mother and daughter are (and should be) very proud of their work. What a perfect gift - even for yourself!

If you aren't able to attend our bazaar at Seaview Manor, 135 12th Avenue, Seaside, Oregon 97138 October 23 and 24, 2015 from 10 am - 4 pm, you can still see this mother/daughter team at the Craft Unlimited show in Vancouver, WA, November 6 and 7 and the Tuality Hospital arts and crafts show in Hillsboro November 13 and 14, 2015. Or contact them at deepforestworkshop@johnarevalo.com.
